Mother's Day Brunch Ideas

Skip the reservations and make Mom a delicious brunch at home.

I love Mother’s Day brunch, but lately I’ve found that eating out can be tedious. Sometimes the service isn’t great, or you have to wait a long time for at able. Maybe you can’t get reservations and worry about how fussy your sister’s baby will be. For this and many other reasons, I think it’s better to host a Mother’s Day Brunch at home.

This does not have to be a huge endeavor, either. You don’t need to be slaving away at the stove all day. I have a dear friend that told me years ago that your guests will not have a more enjoyable day if you spent one hour or 10 hours on dinner. They want to see you and spend time together.

Using that theme as our guide, I’m going to share with you a few easy ways that you can make your brunch enjoyable for everyone and a meal that your family will be talking about for years to come.

Make sure you grab my Easy Mother’s Day Brunch Recipes so that you have a guide for your bunch this year.

1. Is meat on the table?

There are only a few elements of a really great brunch. The first thing to consider is meat. Do your guests eat meat? My family is filled with carnivores. They would love a nice ham with a bunch or would even settle for some bacon. If you have meat eaters coming to your house, consider getting a small boneless ham. You can get one at your grocery store, or even be a big spender and pop for a ham at Honey Baked. Either way,  a ham is easy. Simply reheat it in the oven. You can add a mixture of orange juice and male syrup to add some sweetness. Put the cut side down in a 9×13 pan and fill the pan with your liquid. Reheat until it’s warm. Boom. Meat eaters will be appeased.

2. For an special touch grab some flowers at the store and create a bouquet for each Mom celebrating with you.

I don’t care what anyone says, flowers are a special touch. And, most Mom’s love them. You can grab cut flowers at a store like Trader Joe’s and make your own bouquets. Trust me, the Mom’s will feel very special.

3. Stick with EASY recipes that you can make ahead of time

The nice thing about brunch is that you can make these recipes ahead of time. In my Easy Mother’s Day Brunch Download, I share with you the recipes that I’ve used time and time again. For example, my French Toast Strada (AKA: French Toast Casserole) can be made the night before. And if you’re lacking in fridge space, you can cut the bread and mix the eggs the night before. Just assume and throw int he oven.

4. Make a signature mocktail that everyone can drink

I’ve noticed that less people are drinking alcohol these days. Weather people are drinking less for health purposes or just because booze gets expensive, having a non-alcoholic drink for your Mother’s Day Brunch is a great idea.

5. Give yourself a break and set the table the night before

One thing that deters people from having guests over (aside from having to clean your house) is the impression that it’s a ton of work. While it does require some effort, make a plan and do things ahead of time. If you can set your table the day before, it’s one less thing you have to worry about.

5. Don't forget to enjoy yourself!

It can be stressful to have people over to your house for meal. Don’t forget to be in the moment and enjoy time with your guests. And maybe take a picture or two to memorialize your fantastic brunch.
