You can make this simple syrup with numerous flowers. Other good options include rose and elderflower. Make sure that you select only organic flower to make sure that you're not ingesting pesticides.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Water

  • 1 Cup Sugar

  • 2 Heaping Tbsp Lavender (organic dried flours)

Directions

  • In a small saucepan combine sugar, water and lavender flours. Heat on medium until the sugar has absorbed fully.
  • Turn off the heat and let the combination sit until cook (30 minutes to 1 hour). Taste test during this cooling process.
  • Once the lavender flavor is subtle, strain the mixture. I like to use a cheesecloth and a strainer just to make sure that all of the little bits of lavender are strained out by the cheesecloth.
  • Use right away or use in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
