Fermented garlic is an old fold remed that combines 2 of natures powerhouses: garlic and honey.
This simple yet powerful recipes has been years for centuries. Both of these ingredients can support the immune system, making it a perfect home remedy.
When the garlic is submerged in honey the fermentation process begins. Over time the garlic infuses the garlic, mixing with the honey to create a thin syrup. The honey gets infused with the garlic, leaving a garlicy flavor.
Garlic has immune boosting properties. It contains allicin, a sulfur compound that forms when the garlic is crushed, chopped or mixed with other ingredients, such as honey. Garlic has both antibacterial and antiviral properties that can support the body in defense of colds, flus, or other infections.
Honey itself is a powerhouse of immune supporting properties. Packed with antioxidants and enzymes, this ingredient creates and synergy with the honey. Honey has been used for centuries to soothe sore throats and coughs, however it’s also a powerful prebiotic, too.
Both of these ingredients are amazing support for the immune system. Give this home remedy a try the next time you’re feeling gross.
